  • What Are They Saying About You?, Pt.3 –
     – No-strings-attached freebee.

"To order your new..."(only kidding). But truthfully, it's ‘fairly easy' to get free copies of your credit reports from the three main national credit reporting bureaus. Just so you know that this article isn't trying to sell you anything, this URL is not hyperlinked and you will have to type it in yourself. (By the way, it can be dangerous to follow someone else's hyperlink when you'll be asked for personal information. It may not lead you to where you think you're going. When in doubt, type the address in directly and check site validity). However, feel free to browse about our other menus at this site in order to find good deals on new credit card accounts and extra credit cards. Everyone is helped when we're good neighbors and this is not an add to sell credit cards but to inform others of ways that leave everyone happy.

The path to all three of your free credit reports is www.annualcreditreport.com. When you get to the site, check for a locked padlock at the the top and click on it. This will tell you if you really are where you want to be. It should say things like "VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary CA has identified this site as (‘the name you typed in')". You can also call them by phone at (877) 322-8228 and request a free written copy. Make sure to specify you're after the freebee (they usually cost). There are cases where you can actually get more than one free report from each of these agencies in the same year. These would be cases like when you're denied a new credit card account or when one of your active credit card is closed because of a credit report issue. There are other reasons, as well. Cases like within 60 days of losing your job, being turned down from a job, falling into welfare status, denied insurance, denied other credit or in cases of suspected fraud where you were the victim.
