Do You Know What It's All About?, Pt.2
One company is fighting back.Criminal activities surrounding the theft of personal identities as well was debit and credit card information is not being taken lightly by a Canton, Ohio company, Diebold. Diebold Incorporated recently introduce new solutions to solve debit and credit card skimming problems. Diebold has always been committed to working with the financial industry with a continuous focus on debit and credit card anti-theft measures. The skimming theft device has become a problem worldwide and cost the financial industry billions of dollars. Diebold's new ATM Security Protection Suite is aimed at annihilating criminal skimming activity.
Included in the Diebold's suite are five levels of protection to safeguard against debit and credit card skimming attacks. The skimming solutions are born from a new generation of technology. Diebold boast it to be the most advanced and innovative technology available. The technology is designed on five levels to provide financial institutions a variety of options to choose from to meet their fraud protection needs. Beginning with level one, companies can get the basic protection which includes ATM debit and credit card reader features designed to detect skimming devices. The second level expands the first by generating an alert to a designated alarm system or network monitoring service.
Taking the protection to the next sophisticated levels of three and four, the Diebold system provides an electromagnetic field that interferes with the skimming device which prevents the thieves from capturing debit and credit card information. Level five offers all North America financial institutions the maximum protection with a customized messaging system of alerts. Diebold is a global leader in providing security systems and services to the financial industry. It has not yet been reported whether or not this new technology will all safeguard the card information when a shimming device is used rather than the skimmer. Hopefully that will be revealed to us soon. Meanwhile, cardholders have begun to take some different approached to swiping. Some have even returned to paying in cash after withdrawing funds directly from the bank itself with a real person behind the counter.
