Hilton Practices Unwise Card Behavior
"Celebutante" Paris Hilton is at least partially famous for always looking like she's just stepped off a runway. The former model does, after all, have the bank account to do some serious shopping. Like some mere mortals, however, Paris has a serious credit card problem – she can't keep track of them all! In a recent interview, Hilton admits that she is constantly losing her cards, generally by forgetting them on the counter of whatever store she was shopping at!
"I have, like, three cards. I, like, lose them all the time" Hilton laments. It may seem like a typical celebrity eye-roller, but the type of behavior Paris personifies is the type that leaves consumers wide open to identity theft. If you realize you've lost a credit card, the key thing is to take action immediately by informing the card issuer. Afterwards, be sure to check your card statement carefully and regularly for any suspicious activity – you wouldn't want a thief ringing up Hilton-esque shopping sprees at your expense!
