Luxe Rewards for Big Spenders
American Express is living up to its reputation as "the king of cards." The card company is offering an unprecedented bounty of princely rewards to its well-heeled clientele, ranging from freshwater pearls to Italian sports cars. The "First Collection" rewards program was rolled out recently to grand fanfare. The program is available only to "Platinum" and "Centurion" cardholders, and offers rewards in partnership with such noted purveyors of luxury as Baccarat, Chopard, Davidoff, Eos Airlines, IWC, Lamborghini, Mikimoto, Monarch Billiards, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Piaget, and Steinway & Sons.
Membership rewards in the First Collection are divided into the categories of lifestyle, jewelry, watches, and travel. Reward reimbursement levels range fro, 20,500 to 93 million points. Actual rewards range from a lease on a Lamborghini to Steinway grand pianos and Chopard gold and diamond watches. For lavish spenders, AE is truly rolling out the red carpet on this one.
