Kids Get Creative About Finances
The National Foundation for Credit Counseling
kicked off “Financial Literacy Month” with an
art contest designed to help school-age kids
learn the value of good finances. The “Be Money
Wi$e Poster Contest” is open to all
grade-schoolers, and divided into three judging
categories by grade: Elementary (1st-5th
grades), Middle (6th-9th
grades) and High (10th-12th
grades).
The kids have been given the task of designing a
poster that conveys the theme of: “Plant the
Seed of Saving to Grow Your Future.” The
resulting artwork will be judged on expression
of theme, artistic style, and creativity. The
winners (with a parent or guardian along) will
be flown to Washington, D.C. to be awarded with
a $500 savings bond and a certificate of
achievement.
