News: Americas Watchdog Takes Aim At CC Industry
Some might call it highway robbery. Credit card companies and collection agencies call it just part of doing business. The state of California says it's going to stop and they are taking aim at credit card companies and collection agencies that have been victimizing customers for non-payment by doubling, tripling, or quadrupling consumers' card balances. The Americas Watchdog's Corporate Whistleblower Center will begin looking at abuses occurring in the lower income credit card users and minorities. In time they will expand their investigation to other individuals who have become the target of these unethical activities to include senior citizens and first time and unexpected unemployed.
Americas Watchdog, an advocacy organization focuses on corporate responsibility and fair play. They say these practices are criminal and the companies that participate in these activities are thieves. The agency says these are the same credit card companies that aggressively pursued these customers and gave them credit limits beyond their means and then charged them extraordinary high interest rates. Additionally, the agency says that these banks have received bailout money from the taxpayers they are victimizing. Asking the credit card customers to pay back their balances with interest is fair and expected, however, assessing penalties that amount to double, triple, or more is completely unethical. The Americas Watchdog has had enough and has launched their campaign to put an end to these criminal acts.
In addition to advocating for these credit card victims, the Americas Watchdog also advocates against Wall Street Fraud, for drug and safety, for home owners with mortgage complaints, and for victims of Mesothelioma. Currently, they maintain a Nursing Home abuse center for protection of individuals living in nursing facilities; a complaint center for individuals exposed to toxic Chinese drywall; a complaint center for individuals suffering from side effects from the drug Trasylol; as well as several other consumer protection centers. Americas Watchdog would like to hear from any individual in California that has experienced the abusive practices of the financial industry. Interested individuals can visit the The Corporate Whistleblower Center on the agency's website at Http://CorporateWhistleblowerCenter.Com/ or by calling 866-714-646.
