Concord, New Hampshire Police are asking for your help in apprehending two credit card thieves. The thieves broke into a parked car outside a local Gold's Gym. The owner of the car was a customer of the gym and reported the break-in immediately after returning to her car. The thieves used the stolen credit card to make two purchases totaling nearly $300 shortly after the car had been broken into. Two persons, a man and a woman, were seen on surveillance video at one of the merchants where the stolen credit card was used. If anyone has any information on the two suspects, they can contact the Concord Regional Crimeline. All tips will be shared anonymously with the authorities.
A web designer and internet marketing company employee stole the credit card numbers of subscribers of the Woodcrafter's Magazine and used the cards to purchase personal items including theater tickets, cigars, and several other items. Martin Bowling, a Cross Lanes, West Virginia employee of COMAR, Inc. was arrested and charged with credit card theft, identity theft, and theft of employment and training funds. Bowling pleaded guilty to embezzling over $1,000 from his employer which was received through the Federal Workforce Investment Act. Bowling faces up to two years in prison and $500,000 in fines. He will be sentenced in December in the Charleston Federal Court.
In Allentown, Pennsylvania, a St. Luke's Hospital employee was charged with credit card fraud, theft, receiving stolen property and an offense against an elderly person. Luz Davilla, stole Arvilla Franco's card while Ms. Franco was a patient at the hospital. Davilla then used the stolen card to charge nearly $200 worth of personal items including several pairs of shoes, fashion accessories, two purses, and candy. According to court documents, Ms. Franco stated that she had not authorized any individual to use her card. District Judge Robert C. Halal released Davilla on $10,000 bail.
