  • News:  Radisson Hotels Data Breach

    Chief Operating Office of Radisson Hotels & Resorts, Fredrik Korallus issued a statement warning customer's of credit card and personal information security breach. In the statement, Mr. Korallus said that a hacker had infiltrated the company's computer system during the period from November 2008 through May 2009. Korallus was unable to indicate exactly how many of the chains hotels or credit card customers have been affected by the breach. While federal law officials continue to investigate the incident, customers are being asked to keep a close eye on their credit card statements and notify their lender immediately if any unauthorized charges appear. Furthermore, the company is offering credit monitory at no charge for one year.

    Although the hotel giant is not yet certain what the hackers were looking for, they believe the thieves could have accessed their customer's debit and credit card information, expiration dates, and customer names. Radisson Hotels & Resorts is working with federal authorities in conducting a forensic investigation and is assuring customers that security measures have been taken to prevent any future hacker attacks. Furthermore, the hotel giant is conducting an extensive investigation of the entire affected computer system and will provide any additional uncompromising information as it surfaces. In his letter, Mr. Korallus stated that the hotel values their customer credit card information and privacy and that Radisson "deeply regrets this incident occurred."

The company offers a unique check in service whereby the guest can book reservations and check himself in online up to seven days in advance. When the guest arrives at his Radisson location, his room key and hotel information packet is waiting for him and he need do is show his credit card and Check-in Pass for identification.
