News: SmartSwipe CC Reader Comes to the U.S.
If you like to shop online but have concerns about the security of your credit card information, there's a solution for you. NetSecure Technologies is now offering the SmartSwipe, a personal credit card reader claimed to be "completely safe." The new SmartSwipe which was once only available in Canada is easy to set up and plugs directly into your computer's USB port. Find what you want to purchase online and swipe just as if you were in the store. The new card reader has a built-in cryptographic "scrambles" and "encrypts" the credit card information prior to it entering the computer memory avoiding any danger of being intercepted by hackers or other individuals. Since the data is scrambled prior to entering the computer, no spyware or malicious attackers gain access.
Credit card fraud and identity theft has grown to monumental proportions. Despite all the efforts of some of the largest banks, merchants, technology manufactures, and security software manufactures, Americans remain at great risk each time they enter their card number or any other personal data on the internet. NetSecure claims their SmartSwipe technology is the "world's first truly secure personal credit card reader." Since the reader does not store any information, it does not leave a trail of card data making it very secure. Additionally, the reader protects against phishing sites. What's more, the reader is very affordable. Not having to do the cumbersome task of entering a long card number, saves time with just one swipe.
SmartSwipe is compatible with most major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Although it does not work with a debit card, it does work with a credit/debit combo where the card is co-branded with a major network such as Visa or MasterCard. System requirements include Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Internet Explorer 6 or higher. The device also works with multiple cards and multiple individuals. The SmartSwipe can be purchased online at http://www.smartswipe.ca/.
