  • News:  Citi Korea Issues Over 10,000 CC's

Citibank expanded its Visa PremierMiles credit card to include Korea this past year. The program has exploded as Citibank Korea has already issued over 10,000 cards since it launched the program. The new Citi PremierMiles Visa Signature card has quickly grown to become a leading entity in the Korean market with the new rewards program that allows consumers to convert their Citi PremierMiles to either selected frequent flyer programs where miles never expire or get cash back. With the new Citi PremierMiles Visa Signature credit card, customers can continue to accumulate miles earned from daily purchases without any concerns about what to use them on until they are ready to. At any time, they can choose to convert their points to a frequent flyer program for use toward travel. Sergio Zanatti, Cards Business Group Director, Citibank Korea Inc, said that the efforts of many individuals coupled with a great product have contributed to the success of the credit card. Furthermore, Zanatti commented that the company is committed to providing the Korean market the best in its class.

The Citi PremierMiles credit card program rewards the cardholder's loyalty to their established merchants by giving them the best value on daily retail purchases. Additionally, cardholders earn extra sign-on bonus and additional bonuses for various levels of spending. The credit card does not come without a price; however, cardholders are charged an annual fee. There are two versions of the card; PremierMiles Asiana and PremierMiles Korean Air. Available airlines that qualify for the program depend on the card the customer chooses. Additionally, the new Visa card offers discounts for selected hotels, restaurants, and golf courses as well as prestige travel benefits and services.

James Dixon, President of Visa Korea congratulated Citibank Korea on their explosive success. Additionally, Mr. Dixon said that the Korean credit card market is very important to the Visa organization and they remain committed to providing "services that meet their needs and expectations."
