News: British Airways Tops It All!
If you're a British resident or a world traveler who makes his way to and from London, you'll want to check out the new credit card being offered by JPMorgan Chase. Chase has teamed up with British Airways in offering one of the most advantageous airline rewards sign-on program ever to be offered to customers who open up the new British Airways Visa Signature credit card. According to a recent View from the Wing blog from Gary Leff, the new co-branded credit card will give customers 100,000 airline miles. Cardholders will receive 50,000 British Airways' miles after their first purchase and receive another 50,000 miles if they spend a minimum of $2,000 during the first three months.
Typically, it takes 50,000 for a round trip ticket between North America and London; therefore, 100,000 miles would render two round trip tickets. Wow! That's a vacation for two and maybe even a honeymoon. Certainly this credit card offer is the most lucrative of its kind. The highest level most credit card companies have offered is 25,000 with the exception of a few to specific markets which have gone as high as 50,000. The offer is being offered exclusively to British Airways Frequent flier program members first and will be expanded to additional markets on November 16, 2009.
Members will also receive several other attractive benefits from Chase's British Airways Visa Signature credit card. They will earn 1.25 miles for each dollar spent on purchases and 2.5 miles for each dollar spent on British Airways travel. Most airlines cards typically offer one mile for each dollar spent on purchases and two miles for each dollar spent on the airline brand. Additionally, cardholders will receive a companion redemption voucher for one trans-Atlantic flight if they spend $30,000 or more in their card. Upon approval, cardholders will also be automatically enrolled in British Airways' Executive Club.
