News: Cyber Monday Offers Big Deal
If you survive Black Friday, you'll want to cash in on Cyber Monday. Black Friday is considered the busiest shopping day of the year where credit card customers line up in the early hours of the morning to be the first in line to get that great deal on electronics, apparel and more. With the explosion of online shopping, online retailers are looking to get their share of the pie and thus, Cyber Monday. The National Retail Federation predicts that 90 percent of the online retailers will be offering special cyber specials on Monday, November 30th. Cyber Monday is considered the highest debit and credit card shopping day of the year for online sales. Last year, debit and credit card consumers spent more than $800 million dollars online on Cyber Monday. It is expected that most of the online retailers will not even be charging shipping.
This year debit and credit card customers will see some new businesses entering the Cyber Monday playing field. Hotels will be on the scene including the Starwood and Affinia's New York, Chicago, and Washington DC's locations. The sale will last for a very limited time; therefore, consumers are encouraged to login early to catch some great deals. Debit and credit card shoppers will also find some great coupons available online. CouponWinner.com and PromotionalCodes.com as well as many of the retailers will be offering special one day only coupons. These coupons sites have also become very popular. It is estimated that nearly 9,000 retailers will be offering coupons.
As with any other time, debit and credit card customers need to be cautious during their online shopping excursions. Scams and identity theft have become a growing phenomenon. Experts advise consumers to use credit over debit online because these cards offer more protection than bank debit cards. The best solution is to look at your card issuer's site and check into getting virtual cards. They offer the greatest protection for individuals. Customers should also beware of scams that charge to print coupons. You should never have to pay for any coupons.
