Braintree, New York deputies captured four thieves as a result of their astute observation. Detective Mark Sherrick and Officer Matthew Crowley were conducting a routine search of the local mall parking lot when they observed suspicious activity in a parked car. Upon approaching the vehicle, they observed one of the passengers removing stickers off a Visa credit card. Further investigation uncovered 16 counterfeit credit cards, 25 blank cards, two laptop computers, and over $2,000 in cash on the individual's person. The officers arrested Davelle Singleton, Christopher Waite, Jamel Mattocks, and Christine Richards. All four have been charged with credit card fraud, forgery of a card and conspiracy.

In Orem, Utah police arrested a woman for fraudulent use of a stolen credit card. Police observed the thief on surveillance video using the stolen card. Based on the woman's description from the video, Sergeant Craig Martinez spotted her outside a sporting goods store. Martinez approached the woman and conducted a search of her vehicle where he found a number of items purchased with the stolen credit card. The search also uncovered drugs and additional merchandise which had been reported stolen from several autos and resident burglaries. Amy Gibbs was arrested on charges of burglary, forgery and theft.

A previous report on a Glenville, New York man who said he was taken advantage of by two women and then found his credit cards missing from his wallet has a new twist. The two women came forward to police to correct the story after being identified on store surveillance video. The women admitted to providing sexual favors to the man in exchange for use of his card. When revisited by the authorities, the man admitted filling a false report and said he did so because the women has charged more on his card than they had agreed upon. Charges have been filed against the man for filing a false report and patronizing a prostitute. One of the women has been charged with prostitution.
