News: Virgin Money Enters CC Market
Virgin Money the UK financial services company is ready to embark upon a new venture; the company announced the launch of its new affinity credit card. The want-a-be bank will be supporting the London Marathon credit card in celebration of its fifth year of sponsorship. The race which will take place on April 25th is one of the top five international marathons that include the Boston, Chicago, New York, and Berlin marathons. Considered one of the world's largest charitable fundraising events, with the new Virgin Money credit card, cardholders will have the ability to donate up to one percent of their card purchases to a select number of charities.
In addition to the charitable donation options, the new Virgin Money co-branded London Marathon credit card offers cardholders a 0.8 percent cash back rewards on all purchases plus a 35 percent discount on a variety of select hotel packages. Cardholders will also be able to use their credit card online and receive additional discounts. Phil Packer, the famed osteopath and Principal of The European College of Holistic Medicine, has marveled over the new card and says he expects to use it himself to raise additional money for his 26 charities. Parker has committed to completing the marathon in 26 hours in support of his 26 charities.
London Marathon credit card gives cardholders the flexibility of changing their charities should they realize the needs of other requests. Virgin Money, a UK based firm is a subsidiary of the Virgin Group. Originally an index tracking company and online financial product comparison site recently acquired a banking license through its acquisition of the Church House Trust.
