In Albert Lea, Minnesota, charges have been filed against the city's Manager for credit card fraud. Jim Norman allegedly used his new city credit card to rack up over $2,300 in personal expenses. According to court records, Norman who has only been in office since May of this year, used the city's credit card to purchase a number of personal items including a refrigerator, groceries, women's shoes, and hotel expenses. He is due in court to face felony charges on September 22nd.

Because a sharp gentlemen's club employee was on the ball, police got a little closer to a credit card thief. Police in Dallas, Texas were called to the Dallas Gentlemen's Club at approximately 2 a.m. because a patron was trying to pay for $2,650 worth of lap dances with a stolen credit card. Imagine how that cardholder's significant other would have responded if the charge had gone through and the cardholder was faced to explain the charges. A sharp club employee noticed that the name on the card and the name printed on the receipt were different. The club immediately notified the police, but the suspect had fled before they arrived. According to a club employee, lap dances cost $20 for a one song duration.

In Memphis, Tennessee the Secret Service released a statement that said there was no connection between a recent debit and credit card theft after using their cards at the local Jason's Deli. According to the Secret Service, a thief had hacked into the deli's computer system. Customers who used their debit or credit cards during the weekend of August 20th were affected. The deli has taken measures to examine and determine if any gaps are present in its security system and wants its customers to know that the security of their personal information is important to them.
