According to the 2010 Brand Keys Customer Loyalty Engagement Index(R), Discover Financial Inc., the credit card giant, is tops in customer loyalty. The Riverwoods, Illinois based company holds the number one position for the 13th consecutive year. Carlos Minetti, Executive Vice President of Cardmenber Services and Consumer Banking for Discover noted that the company successfully evolved from a "credit card business to a direct banking and payment services company by maintaining its focus on serving our customers." Minetti said the company came out on top because their customers know that they will get the consistent service across the board whether they are using their credit card or participating in online banking.
Harit Talwar, Executive Vice President of credit card programs and Chief Marketing Officer for Discover says that listening to customer and responding to their needs is what made them so successful. Furthermore, Talwar said the company's reward programs and superior products breeds loyalty. In addition to its credit card program, Discover Financial Inc. offers a variety of financial products including certificate of deposits, money market accounts, and online savings accounts. The company also features their Financial Education Resources that offers a variety of financial management tools to assist customers in maintaining control of their finances.
