  • News:  Linux Launches New Business CC

A US based non-profit organization has announced a business support system that will allow UK small businesses to properly conduct business within its community with a new funding resource. Pioneering Open Source Linux Fund and MBNA UK launched its UK Business Credit Card that supports open source with every credit card transaction. According to David Mandel, Linux Fund Executive Director, the new card will take lending to a higher level. The fund's new card, the UK Business Credit Card, provides UK businesses a stable year round source of credit availability with competitive rates and benefits.

The beauty of the new Linux Fund UK Business Credit Card is that it offers customers up to 57 days of interest free spending. Businesses will also have the capabilities of adding an unlimited number of additional cards to trusted employees. The new credit card program also provides free online account management and the option to purchase added protection against theft and employee card abuse. The usual terms, conditions, exclusions, and limitations apply to the purchase of added insurance and protection. The new card is the first European and business card program that supports the Open Source software.

In a statement released by Michael Dexter, Linux Fund Program Director, the Linux Fund card is designed to reflect the same growth and sophistication that its Free and Open Source Software achieved over the past decade. Dexter says the organizations expertise in academic and scientific research has proven successful and sets the level of expectations for the decade to come. Linux Fund is a US-based organization that was founded in 1999 with its affinity credit card issued by the MBNA bank which is now a part of the financial giant Bank of America. The company received approval from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in 2007 to solicit individuals and charitable organizations.
