  • News:  Discover Joins Six Flags

    Six Flags Entertainment Corporation announced that it signed an agreement with Discover Financial to be the official credit card for its U.S. theme, water, and animal parks. The agreement will give Discover credit cardholders a variety of money saving perks and exclusive access to some of Six Flags exclusive entertainment events. Six Flag's is the world's largest theme park company which makes the agreement a multi-million dollar exclusive partnership. Six Flag's guests will receive an additional five percent discount on in-park or online purchases of admission tickets and season passes when making their purchases with their Discover credit card. Guests will also receive a five percent discount on any retail merchandise, games and attractions as well as food or drink purchases made with their Discover card.

    David McKillips, Senior Vice President of Corporate Alliances for Six Flags Media Networks, stated that the company is confident that its customers will enjoy the added benefits that using their Discover credit card will bring. Guests and Discover credit card users will be able to share in the fun and excitement of the Six Flags experience at all of its 19 parks across the United States, Mexico and Canada. Discover cardholders will also enjoy a number of other benefits including discounts on family four packs, expedited entrance to the park, meal packages at significant savings, exclusive after hour access to rides, and preview days at discounted prices.

    Six Flags as well as Discover Financial will be equally involved in the marketing program which will promote the partnership. An extensive advertising campaign is planned whereby Six Flags will be utilizing point-of-sale signage and promotions. Discover will be advertising the instant five percent discount to its cardholders. Guest will experience visual messages such as driveway signage, pole banners, billboards and scrolling signage telling them of the five percent discount each time they make a purchase in the Six Flags theme park with their Discover credit card. The advertising campaign will also include a number of additional online and in park media messages.
