  • News:  Credit Card Mis-use, you be the judge:

    In my last two articles entitled: "Credit Card Trail Tail" and "Credit Card Balance (Justice Balance, That Is)", I set the stage for this one. We have indisputable evidence of misconduct from Mr. Rubio concerning credit card usage. How serious was this misconduct? Depends on who you ask…or does it? Mr. Rubio would have you to believe it was just a little mistake. Supposing we examine the situation a little deeper and let you, the voter, decide.

    What we know so far is that:

       =>  At least $16,000 worth of credit card charges at possible issue have been repaid.
       =>  Nearly $100,000 (93,566) worth of credit card charges has not been repaid.
       =>  Issues in question are things like a $4,000 minivan repair job/rental.
       =>  An $134 haircut.
       =>  Eight airline flights between Tallahassee and Miami area have been knowingly double-billed by Mr. Rubio and his staff. Instead of submitting his personal credit card, Mr. R allowed the charges be placed on the party’s card. Then, in his behalf, both the party and the State of Florida were tapped for reimbursement. Now that this is exposed, Mr. R. "out of an abundance of caution" is reimbursing the $3,000.
       =>  Mr. R admits to placing about $1,265 for personal expenses on the party credit card between 3/08 and 11/08 but, according to records, has only repaid $982 of it.
       =>  The Republican Party has covered the remaining $109,000 worth of charges on the credit card issued to Mr. R. over a two-year span but is not releasing any further information.

    All this comes at a time of justified mistrust from the voters and contributors after the likes of Ray Samsom, Jim Greer and his cohort, Delmar Johnson. Is anything going to be done about it? Will there be a credit card investigation? As you can see from my series on the matter entitled "Heralding "the Herald" Feedback", some would just like to forget about it, some want a thorough investigation and, yet still others are waiting to see what the public reaction is.
