NEWS: Target Employee Stole Credit Cards
A "team member" of a Vestal, NY Target store was
charged this past week with stealing two lost
credit cards and using them to charge hundreds
of dollars in purchases at the store.
Nickecia Alder, who lives in the nearby town of
Endicott, found the cards when they were
accidentally left behind by customers making
purchases at the Vestal store where Alder is
employed. Over the past few weeks, she charged
around $500 in miscellaneous merchandise to the
two cards. The rightful owners of the cards in
question alerted police to the theft when the
fraudulent activity became apparent, and the
accidental abandonment of the cards at the
Vestal Target was found to be the common
denominator in the thefts. Vestal police worked
with the cooperation of the Target store's loss
prevention team to zero in on Alder.
Alder was charged on Friday with two counts each
of fourth-degree grand larceny and of
second-degree forgery connected to the
signatures on the fraudulent transactions. Both
charges are felonies. According to Vestal
police, Alder was arraigned and released pending
her day in court.
