NEWS: Michigan Men Stole Cards
Two unnamed men were arrested and
face charges of theft and fraud after stealing
credit cards stolen from a house to finance a
spending spree in Flint, Michigan, said The
Jackson Citizen-Patriot. The men, both locals,
were apprehended at the Blackman Township
Wal-Mart store, attempting to purchase a very
large amount of merchandise.
Blackman Township Director of Public Safety Mike
Jester told the Citizen-Patriot that store
employees covertly notified police after they
noticed that the two men’s activities seemed
suspicious. At the point of sale, the clerk
attempting t check through the men’s purchases
asked for identification, amd the men claimed
that they were unable to furnish any. Police
showed up at the Wal-Mart store, and confiscated
the men’s respective identifications.
Unsurprisingly, the names on the IDs did not
match those on the credit cards attempting to be
rung through for the transaction. The pair were
subsequently arrested on the scene.
The two are expected to be arraigned Friday, and
face charges of credit card fraud, as well as
possession of stolen property. After being
contacted by police, the man whom the credit
cards actually belonged to told authorities that
his home had been broken into last week, when he
noticed that the cards were missing, said the
newspaper.
